What is Toolcloak?
Toolcloak is a free website with 550+ browser-based tools for images, PDFs, text, developers, design, calculators, math, security, SEO, audio and video and everyday tasks, such as an image compressor, JSON formatter, QR code generator and password generator.
Is Toolcloak really free?
Yes. There is no signup, no paywall, no watermark and no usage limit.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Tools process your files and text inside your own browser, so they never leave your device. The exceptions are the QR code tools (QR Code Generator, WiFi QR and UPI QR), which send what you enter to a third-party service to draw the QR image, and a few lookup tools such as DNS Lookup that contact the address you type. Do I need to create an account?
No. Open a tool and use it immediately.
Does Toolcloak work on my phone?
Yes. All tools are designed to work on phones, tablets and desktops in any modern browser such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
Is there a file size limit?
We do not set one, but because processing uses your device, very large files depend on your device memory. Files up to around 20 MB work well on most devices.
What does the "Recently used" list on the home page do?
If you accept the notice, Toolcloak remembers your recent tools, results and files in your browser so you can jump back quickly. It is stored only on your device and you can clear it at any time.
Can I use the results commercially?
Yes. You keep full ownership of anything you create with the tools. Please make sure you have the right to use the content you process.
A tool is not working. What should I do?
Reload the page and try again, then try another browser or update yours. If it still fails, email us with the tool name, your device and browser and we will look into it.
Can you add a new tool?
Probably! Send your idea through the Contact page. Many Toolcloak tools started as user suggestions.
How do I clear my data from Toolcloak?
Use the Clear button on the home page or clear site data for toolcloak.pages.dev in your browser settings. We do not hold any other data about you.
