Privacy Policy
Short version: Toolcloak tools run in your browser. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not upload or store the files and text you work with.

1. Who we are
Toolcloak ("we", "us", "our") operates the website toolcloak.pages.dev. For any privacy question, use the feedback form on the Contact page.
2. Information we do NOT collect
- We do not require registration, so we do not hold names, passwords or profiles.
- The text, images, PDFs, JSON, passwords and other content you enter into a tool are processed on your own device. They are not sent to our servers.
- We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
3. Information stored on your device
Toolcloak stores a small amount of data in your browser's local storage to make the site work better. It stays on your device and we cannot read it:
- toolcloak_cookie_consent — remembers whether you accepted or declined our notice.
- toolcloak_history — a list of tools you recently used, shown as "Recently used" on the home page and on the History page. It is saved only if you accept the notice, and you can clear it any time from the History page or by clearing your browser data.
- toolcloak_tool_entries — what you entered into each tool and the result you got, shown in that tool's History section and on the History page. It is saved only if you accept the notice, it never leaves your device and you can delete it any time.
- toolcloak_files (browser database) — result files you make (images, PDFs, audio and more) so they appear under Saved files. They stay on your device, can be deleted one by one, and the files you upload are not stored.
- toolcloak_chains_v1, toolcloak_chain_runs and toolcloak_chain_pipe — your Tool Chains and their runs, kept so you can run them again.
- toolcloak_wishlist and toolcloak_pins — tools you starred or pinned.
- toolcloak_theme — your Light, Dark or Auto choice. toolcloak_alerts_v1 — your finished-job sound and notification settings.
- toolcloak_notepad_v1, toolcloak_worldclock and toolcloak_autosave — what the Online Notepad, World Clock and tools with autosave remember for you.
- toolcloak_install_dismissed — remembers that you closed the "install the app" hint. A temporary session value (toolcloak_reloaded) helps the page reload once automatically after a site update.
4. Technical data and hosting
Toolcloak is hosted on Cloudflare. Like almost every website, the hosting provider may automatically process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested and the time of the request in order to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse. We do not combine this data with any personal profile.
5. Third-party services
A few features rely on external services:
- Google Fonts — the site loads its fonts from Google, which means your browser contacts Google servers to download them.
- QR code tools — QR codes are drawn on your device. The text, link, WiFi password or UPI details you type are never sent anywhere.
- Helper libraries — every helper library (PDF, OCR and its language data, spreadsheets, ZIP, barcode, YAML, diagrams and others) is served from Toolcloak itself, not from an outside CDN.
- Tools that look things up on purpose — DNS Lookup asks dns.google or cloudflare-dns.com for the domain you type, and the API Request Builder and CORS Tester contact the address you enter. Only what you type into these tools is sent.
- Currency conversion — uses built-in approximate rates. No exchange-rate service is contacted.
- Feedback — sending feedback is switched off for now, so nothing you type there is sent.
- Advertising — Toolcloak may display ads in the future (for example through Google AdSense). If we do, those providers may use cookies or similar technology to show and measure ads, and we will update this policy and the cookie notice before doing so.
6. Analytics
Toolcloak uses Google Analytics (GA4) on all visits to count visitors and understand which pages and tools are used, for example pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) for this. The text and files you enter into the tools are never sent to Google Analytics. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or by blocking cookies for this site in your browser. See Google's own privacy information for how Google handles analytics data.
7. Cookies
See our Cookie Policy for a complete explanation of what is stored and how to control it.
8. Children's privacy
Toolcloak is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of personal data. Since we hold almost no personal data, most of this is already in your hands through your browser settings. For any request, email us and we will respond.
10. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Because your content is processed locally, it never travels to us. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, but keeping your data on your device is the strongest protection we can offer.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date on this page shows the latest version. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
12. Contact and the feedback form
The feedback form is switched off for now: nothing you type in it is sent anywhere. We never receive your files or what you enter in a tool.
Questions about privacy? Use the feedback form on the Contact page.
